By installing or using Star Scholar, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree to them, please don't use the app.
Maykrware LLC grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Star Scholar on devices you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not redistribute, sell, rent, or reverse-engineer the app, or use it to build a competing product.
The app's mythology write-ups, its visual design, and its software are original work owned by Maykrware LLC. The underlying astronomical and geographic data — star positions, constellation line patterns, and the city list — are drawn from third-party sources distributed under their own open licenses; see the app's Credits screen for full attribution. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership of any of this to you — the license above is to use the app, not to copy its content elsewhere.
Star Scholar is a learning tool. Its sky-position calculations are accurate enough for identifying and locating constellations, but the app is not a navigation instrument, and it should not be relied on for maritime, aviation, or other safety-critical orientation.
The app is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind, express or implied. Maykrware LLC does not guarantee the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose beyond its intended use as a constellation-learning app.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Maykrware LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app.
These terms, and the app itself, may change over time. Continuing to use the app after an update means you accept the terms as they stand at that point.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions.
Questions about these terms can be sent to support@maykrware.com.
